Webster and Horsfall Ltd, the Birmingham based wire manufacturer has recently invested £1m in its specialist wire manufacturing and stocking capability. This forms part of the company’s recent reinvention into a wire stockist and distributor, whilst continuing to offer nearly all of the wide variety of current and historic specifications required by the spring making industry across the world.
‘We are delighted to have recently been appointed as the distributor for Bekaert in the UK and Ireland. This relationship means that we are in the unique position to supply all our customers needs’ Jonathan Horsfall Sales Director went on to say ‘Working with globally recognised, quality wire manufacturers such as Bekaert, allows our company to have the material throughput necessary to offer competitive prices, we are extremely excited about this opportunity.’
The latest machinery investment is a 9 stage multi-hole wire drawing machine, manufactured to bespoke requirements which will allow Webster and Horsfall to be flexible in the type of wire they produce. Other investment includes the provision of a stocking facility designed to carry upwards of 600 tonnes of finished wire in a dry, heated environment.
‘The new stock facility allows us to offer an improved shelf life on all plain finished wire, and our new management system ensures timely and accurate quotations on request.’ Jonathan Horsfall said. ‘Technical expertise is a very important part of supplying wire for demanding spring making applications in the UK. That is why we will be working closely with the IST as well as our existing partnership with the University of Birmingham, to engineer our wire to perform in the most demanding situations.’
Webster and Horsfall produce a weekly distributed stocklist as well as offer a customer specific stocking option, for more information please contact the sales team on 01217722555 / firstname.lastname@example.org
