Non-Axial Load Tester

Non-Axial Load Tester - Improves The Performance Of Your Springs By Testing All The Component Forces

NonAxial.JPG (125710 bytes) A conventional spring load tester will measure only the axial load of the spring using a single load cell.  Research has shown, however, that there are various non-axial forces which act on the spring and which may cause mis-operation, premature failure and hysteresis.  Such forces include the twisting moment, shear force and tilting moment.

You can now measure all these forces accurately using IST's design expertise and sophisticated measurement technology.

IST produces two standard load testing machines with the capacity for the measurement, analysis and display of both axial and non-axial forces in compression springs.  Using six load cells, these machines offer as standard.

· Full computer-control, for fully automatic testing with up to 10 test positions.
· Full graphical display for results for shear force, tilting moments, torsional moment and force polar plot.
· Both numerical and graphical printouts.
· Data save and recall facility, with user-friendly software.
· Option for automatic measurement of coil diameter expansion under compression.
· Production of test certificates.
·
Force accuracy:
· Axial to 0.5% of reading.
· Shear / Torque to 1% of reading
· Automatic selection of either imperial or metric units.
· Full convential axial measurement capabilities with multi-load ranges to improve accuracy on smaller springs.

Special Options

These standard machines can be modified according to your needs.  For example, you may require one or more of the following:

· Diameter and bow measurement under load (MLT2 only).
· Increased testing envelope.
· Specified load ranges.
· Specified spring end fixtures.
· Software customised to your requirements.
· Other supply voltages available.
