Spring Manufacturing Technology
Can Include Accurate Spring Measurement and Inspection & Quality Control

Springs are the most highly stressed manufactured components operating in any mechanism.  As a consequence they are manufactured from the highest strength engineering materials known to man.  They are critical components requiring a detailed knowledge and appreciation of their manufacture on the part of all involved in the component supply chain.  This course will provide that essential understanding in 3 days.

Providing all those involved with springs the underpinning knowledge and understanding of spring manufacturing processes.  Delegates will gain a comprehensive awareness of:

WHY ~ processes are carried out.
WHAT ~ the potential pitfalls, limitations and benefits are.
HOW ~ the processes are carried out.
WHEN ~ some processes are more appropriate than others.
WHERE ~ the critical stages in the manufacturing process are.
WHICH ~ order manufacturing processes should be undertaken.

This wide ranging overview covering the whole of process technology applied to spring manufacture is of tremendous value to all levels of staff involved in the manufacture of all spring types.  For the materials supplier it provides invaluable insight into the importance of material quality in spring manufacture and the further processes applied to their materials by the spring manufacturer.  For the spring user or designer it provides an appreciation of the manufacturing factors, which must be taken into consideration at the design stage if springs are to perform reliably in service.

Note : Practical craft training in spring machine setting or operating is not offered as part of the course.
